Miri Berman is an up-and-coming artist living on a moshav near Jerusalem.
During a career in education and counseling, Miri found an outlet for her creative spirit and the artist within her in sculpture. Since leaving the field of education, Miri has devoted all her time to this art, which is now the main focus of her life.
Penguins live in the coldest, most inhospitable places on earth. Yet the spark of motherhood and a mother's love exists among all creatures in all conditions. Nowhere can we see this more clearly than in Miri Berman's sculpture of a mother penguin looking down protectively at her chick, which in turn gazes up at its mother in absolute trust and certainty that she will provide for all its needs. This piece is a true symbol of the essence of motherhood
